Ballater House

Ballater House is a male only care home providing nursing and personal care to up to 16 men with a learning disability, autism or enduring mental health conditions. Inspectors found the service performing well overall, with safe staffing levels, careful medicine management and good risk assessments. A previous breach relating to safe care and treatment had been resolved, with no ongoing concerns identified.

Staff were described as compassionate and supportive, helping people stay independent and connected to family and community life. Relatives spoke positively about the care provided, feeling their family members were safe and well looked after. Management systems for monitoring quality and resolving issues were found to be effective, despite a very recent change of manager.
