Wensley House Residential Home

Wensley House is a residential care home providing personal care and accommodation for up to 48 people aged 65 and over, including those living with dementia. At the time of inspection, 12 people were living at the service.

The home had implemented several measures to support residents' wellbeing and manage infection control. People maintained contact with relatives through telephone calls, window visits, and an internal visiting pod built within the service. For those at the end of life, arrangements were in place for family visits with appropriate safety measures including temperature checks, PPE, and separate entrances. Most staff had received training on infection prevention and use of PPE, with clear guidance and signage throughout the home. Inspectors observed appropriate infection control practices including staff wearing masks, gloves and aprons, alongside good hand hygiene. The environment was visibly clean with evidence of regular cleaning schedules and deep cleaning. Residents were encouraged to maintain social distancing in communal areas such as the lounge and dining room.
