Ullswater Cottage

Ullswater Cottage provides care, accommodation and rehabilitation for up to 10 people with acquired brain injury. During the inspection, 9 people were living at the service. The home delivers personalised care and support tailored to individual needs and preferences. A relative praised the manager's knowledge and expertise, noting that staff had provided excellent care to their family member.

Staff demonstrated a clear understanding of safeguarding, knowing what actions to take if they identified concerns about harm, abuse or discrimination. Risk assessments provided guidance for staff about individual and environmental risks associated with the people they supported. There were sufficient staff available to provide the necessary support, and people received their medicines safely and when needed.

Care at the home was person-centred and promoted people's dignity, privacy and human rights. Staff recognised and respected each person's individual needs and choices.
