Russettings Care Home

Russettings Care Home provides nursing care for up to 45 people, some living with dementia. During inspection, 24 people were residing at the service. The home maintained high standards of cleanliness and infection control, with staff regularly cleaning frequently-touched surfaces like handrails. The environment had been adapted to encourage social distancing, with communal areas arranged to provide appropriate spacing between residents. Staff wore suitable personal protective equipment with plentiful supplies available throughout the home.

The provider had established policies for infection prevention and control that staff understood and followed consistently. All staff had completed additional training in infection prevention and control and undertaken regular competency checks for handwashing and correct use of PPE. The home maintained a robust COVID-19 testing regime for both staff and residents, with results clearly documented and regularly reviewed by the registered manager to ensure testing frequency and accuracy were maintained.
