The Porterbrook provides accommodation and personal care for up to 44 older people, including those living with dementia. It is currently rated Good overall, an improvement from the previous requires improvement rating. The CQC found the management team promoted safety, learned from incidents, and delivered kind, evidence-based care with good outcomes for most residents.

Inspectors noted some ongoing concerns around infection control and moving and handling practices, including poor technique observed during the visit, though these were addressed promptly by the registered manager. Residents and relatives spoke positively about staff kindness, dignity, and choice, describing the care as attentive and reassuring overall.
