Hallamgate House

Hallamgate House provides accommodation and personal care for up to seven people with learning disabilities and autism. At inspection, five people were living at the service. Staff demonstrated a strong person-centred approach, placing people at the heart of the service and treating them as equals with dignity and respect.

The service recognised people's religious, cultural and personal diversity through detailed care plans, and supported individuals to make choices about their lives with staff listening carefully to their voices and preferences.

People were supported to have maximum choice and control, with staff adopting the least restrictive approaches possible. The service involved people and their families as experts in their own lives, focusing first on what individuals could do independently before offering support. Staff had worked to ensure people maintained control over their own lives while building on their strengths and abilities.
