Sydenham House

Sydenham House is a residential care service providing personal care for up to 49 people, some living with dementia. The purpose-built facility includes individual bedrooms and communal spaces across two floors, along with an accessible garden. At inspection, 40 people were using the service.

Inspectors identified significant concerns across multiple areas. Staffing levels were inadequate, and the management of medicines posed risks to residents. Mental Capacity assessments were not being conducted properly, and staff did not receive sufficient support. Management oversight was weak, with no robust system in place to monitor the quality and safety of the service. These failings placed people at increased risk of harm.
