St Martins Residential Home provides personal care and accommodation for up to 26 older people, including those living with dementia, across three floors with garden access. The CQC rated the service requires improvement overall, finding continued breaches relating to safe care and treatment and good governance. Care plans and risk assessments did not always contain enough detail to keep people safe, and quality assurance processes were not robust enough to identify shortfalls.

Inspectors found staff were kind, knowledgeable and well trained, with enough staffing to meet people's needs promptly. People and relatives spoke warmly of the approachable registered manager and said they felt safe and well cared for. Despite these strengths, the provider has been asked to submit an action plan addressing the ongoing concerns.
