Fairmead

Fairmead provides personal care for up to three people with learning disabilities and autism spectrum conditions in an adapted two-storey building. At inspection, all three residents were living at the service. People felt safe, with their belongings and finances well protected. Staff understood safeguarding procedures and knew how to escalate concerns appropriately. Medicines were managed safely, with the service working alongside GPs to ensure residents only took necessary medications. Individual health assessments and risk assessments were tailored to each person's specific needs.

The service maintained robust recruitment practices for new staff. All staff received training in safeguarding and person-specific support, including autism awareness relevant to residents' needs. The home supported staff development and additional qualifications. People were supported to maintain their health and wellbeing in line with recommended guidance, with the service demonstrating commitment to both resident safety and staff professional development.
