Richmond Heights

Richmond Heights provides personal and nursing care to up to 51 people, including those living with dementia. At inspection, 44 people were using the service. While staff demonstrated kindness, their approach was largely task-oriented and lacked person-centred care. Care plans contained insufficient detail about people's preferences and support needs, with some information lost during a recent transition from paper to electronic records. There was little evidence that people had been consulted about the service's development or asked for their views.

The home lacked adequate social activities and stimulation. Most people spent considerable time in bed with minimal engagement throughout the day. Although the provider had quality monitoring systems in place, these had not identified all issues found during inspection. Where internal audits had flagged concerns, corrective actions had not been completed promptly.
