The Fields

The Fields is a large care home with nursing, split into seven smaller units, supporting up to 54 people with a learning disability and/or autism. The CQC found the service good overall, having previously been rated outstanding for well-led. Minor environmental risks were identified but fixed on the day, and some staff needed more support from management, which was already being addressed.

Inspectors found people were safeguarded from abuse, medicines were managed safely, and detailed records guided staff in supporting people’s needs and behaviours. Families and professionals described staff as kind, caring and person-centred, with good communication and timely engagement with external health services.
