Portelet Lodge Care Home

Portelet Lodge is an adapted property in a residential area of Bournemouth, providing care for up to 23 people across three floors accessible by stairs or lift. At the time of inspection, 20 people were living at the home, some with dementia. Residents reported being happy and safe. Staff identified and assessed risks in daily life, with measures in place to protect people. Fire safety improvements were underway, with staff trained and regular drills conducted. Equipment was maintained regularly and utility checks performed.

Staff and residents interacted in a kind and affectionate manner, creating a relaxed, vibrant atmosphere. Robust infection control measures were implemented to maintain a safe environment and prevent avoidable infections.
