Maple Lodge

Maple Lodge, in Essex, is a residential care home providing accommodation and personal care for up to five people with a learning disability and autistic people. The CQC rated the home good overall, a significant improvement from its previous inadequate rating, and the service has now come out of special measures. Inspectors found people were kept safe, supported with kindness, and involved in planning their own care.

The report noted that medicines, staffing and risk management had all improved, and people were supported to make choices and access their community. However, well-led was rated as requires improvement, as the registered manager was also overseeing other services, and recent governance improvements still needed to be embedded to ensure they last.
