Longwood Place

Longwood Place provides short break respite care for up to eight people with needs associated with dementia, physical, sensory or learning disabilities. The service also offers short term residential care for people recently discharged from hospital with a positive Covid-19 status. Staff have completed training on COVID-19 prevention and the service has implemented policies to ensure safe entry and exit procedures for staff and visitors. The provider works closely with partnership organisations to manage admissions and discharges safely.

The service carries out full assessments of people's needs, incorporating information from families to ensure personalised care. Residents' routines, likes and preferences are incorporated into daily care to promote wellbeing. The service has considered communication needs and has plans in place to support people with communication aids. Residents have access to DVD players and the internet in their rooms, with staff supporting them with meaningful activities. The service meets good infection prevention and control guidelines.
