The Berrys Carehome

The service provides accommodation and support for up to three adults with learning disabilities and autism spectrum disorder. During the inspection, one person was living at the home. Staff actively encourage visiting professionals to wear additional PPE to prevent cross-infection, and people are supported to access COVID-19 testing and seasonal preventative injections. For those who refuse these due to challenging behaviours, the service has risk assessments and monitoring processes in place to observe for signs of illness. Staff shift patterns have been extended to longer days to reduce the number of people entering the home and minimise infection risks, changes that staff supported.
