The Berrys Carehome

The Berrys Carehome is a small residential care home providing accommodation and personal care for up to three older and younger people, including people with a learning disability and autistic people. The CQC found the service had declined from good to requires improvement, with breaches relating to safe care, staffing, premises and governance. Environmental and fire safety risks were not well managed, staffing levels were insufficient, and the premises were not well maintained.

Care plans were difficult to understand and did not always reflect people's current needs, and people did not always have enough support to take part in activities important to them. Despite this, inspectors found staff treated people with kindness and dignity, medicines were managed properly, and relatives gave positive feedback about the care provided.
