Firtree House Nursing Home

Firtree House provides nursing and personal care for up to 33 residents. At the time of inspection, 30 people were living at the service. The home maintains high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. High touch areas such as door handles and light switches are cleaned throughout the day by a dedicated cleaning team, and hand sanitiser and wipes are readily available throughout the premises. Clinical waste is safely disposed of and staff have ready access to personal protective equipment.

The home supports residents to maintain contact with family members in a safe manner. Visiting arrangements follow government guidance, with visitors required to provide evidence of a recent negative COVID-19 test before entering through a separate entrance. People's clothes and bed linen are washed separately to prevent cross-contamination, and posters at the entrance inform visitors of current health and safety expectations.
