Derwent Lodge provides nursing and residential care for 16 people with mental health needs. The detached, single-storey property includes communal rooms with lounges, dining areas, and an activities room, along with single-occupancy bedrooms that have en-suite facilities and access to a garden.

The service demonstrates strong infection prevention and control practices. Information about IPC is provided in multiple formats including written and visual materials. The home is visibly clean with documented cleaning schedules in place.

Staff support people to reduce infection risks both within the service and in the community by encouraging hand hygiene, sanitisation, and mask wearing. During COVID-19 outbreaks, people were supported to isolate while their emotional wellbeing was considered.
