Allison House Residential Home

Allison House provides personal care for up to 42 older people, with 34 residents at the time of inspection. The home has implemented robust systems to support safe visiting, including vaccination verification, lateral flow tests, temperature checks, and COVID-19 screening questionnaires. Staff were observed wearing personal protective equipment correctly, and the premises appeared visibly clean and hygienic with no unpleasant odours. Enhanced cleaning schedules have been implemented to prioritise frequently touched surfaces.

The provider has prioritised residents' wellbeing during the pandemic by supporting contact with relatives and friends through video and telephone calls, as well as promoting alternate visiting arrangements including garden visits and face-to-face meetings. All staff have received both doses of COVID-19 vaccination, with records maintained by the registered manager. Staff have received appropriate training in the correct use of personal protective equipment, and the registered manager has recognised the importance of essential caregivers in supporting residents' emotional wellbeing during restrictions.
