Aarons Specialist Unit

Aarons Specialist Unit accommodates up to 22 people living with dementia and other neurological conditions across four separate wings, each with purpose-built facilities. At inspection, all 22 beds were occupied.

However, people were not always safe. Risk assessments were not consistently completed to manage known risks associated with people's care and support. Medicine management protocols did not always align with best practice standards. The service also failed to consistently learn lessons from incidents that occurred, limiting opportunities to improve safety and prevent future occurrences.
