Could the NHS fund York Lodge's fees?
NHS Continuing Healthcare could cover 100% of care costs with no means test.
York Lodge in Worthing provides residential care for up to 24 people with mental health needs. At the time of inspection, the home was at full capacity. The service demonstrates strong infection control practices, with the majority of residents having received Covid-19 vaccinations and their consent documented. Those who declined vaccination had their wishes respected with appropriate risk assessments in place. Regular testing is available to both residents and staff.
The home supports residents' independence and community access through individualised risk assessments. Staff provide practical support such as face masks and hand sanitiser for outings, and encourage hygiene practices on return. Visitors are actively welcomed with appropriate safety measures in place. For residents whose families cannot visit in person, staff facilitate contact through video calls to maintain important relationships.
