Woodview House Nursing Home

The home provides personal and nursing care for up to 24 older people, some living with dementia, across three wings on a single floor. At inspection, 19 people were using the service. The registered manager had recently resigned, with a management team in place during the transition. Systems for oversight were not effective and failed to identify several concerns. An electronic recording system for medication and care records lacked robustness, leaving uncertainty about whether staff had access to all necessary information to meet people's needs safely. Medication audits missed areas for improvement, and charts monitoring care needs were inconsistently completed. While accidents and incidents were reported and addressed appropriately, they were not analysed for learning opportunities.

Despite these management concerns, people felt safe and were supported by consistent staff who knew them well. Staff felt supported in their roles, though their competencies had not been formally checked and supervision arrangements were inadequate.
