Foresters Nursing Home

Foresters Nursing Home accommodates up to 30 people living with dementia and physical disabilities across a two-storey building with en-suite bedrooms and communal facilities. At inspection, 26 people were receiving care. Medicines were managed in line with prescribed needs, with errors identified, investigated and acted upon appropriately. Care records were detailed and person-centred, containing comprehensive risk assessments and individualised care plans.

Staff understood their safeguarding responsibilities and had systems in place to identify when people needed protection. Residents and relatives reported feeling safe and satisfied with the care provided. The home maintained effective infection control procedures to protect people from COVID-19, with staff trained and supplied with appropriate personal protective equipment. The registered manager and provider ensured procedures aligned with current government guidance. People were supported to have maximum choice and control over their lives, with staff using the least restrictive approaches and acting in residents' best interests.
