Woodside Resource Centre

Woodside Resource Centre provides nursing and personal care for up to 60 older people in a single storey building, with 56 residents at the time of inspection. Some residents were living with dementia. People felt safe and well cared for, with relatives confirming the quality of care provided. Staff demonstrated knowledge of safeguarding procedures and how to protect people from abuse. Risks were properly assessed and managed, with regular health and safety checks carried out on the building and equipment.

The provider's recruitment procedures were rigorous, reducing the risk of unsuitable staff being employed. Staff received appropriate training to carry out their roles effectively. Residents were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives, with staff supporting them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests. Policies and systems throughout the service supported these practices.
