About Winchley Home

Winchley Home is a residential care home in Norfolk. The findings below set out the CQC's most recent assessment of the service.

Winchley Home in Norfolk provides accommodation with nursing and personal care for older people and people living with dementia, supporting up to 41 people. The CQC rated the home Inadequate overall and has placed it into special measures. Inspectors found breaches relating to consent, safe care and treatment, and governance, with poorly managed risks, inadequate staff training and significant fire safety concerns, including missing evacuation plans.

Families told inspectors staff were kind and caring, but raised concerns about a lack of activities and limited staff contact with people in their rooms. The provider has developed an action plan to address the failings, but the CQC found the standard of care fell well short of what people are entitled to expect.
