Westside Care Home

Westside Care Home provides personal and nursing care to up to 30 people, with 22 residents at the time of inspection. The service has systems in place for monitoring and managing risks to people. While some risk assessments and care plans initially lacked sufficiently detailed information in certain areas, the registered manager updated these during the inspection and the provider subsequently provided evidence that all records had been brought to the required standard. Staff knew people and their needs well, ensuring residents received appropriate and safe care and support.

Medicines are administered safely, with staff receiving appropriate training and administration records completed properly. However, stock counts of medicines had not always been recorded accurately, which made it potentially more difficult for the provider to verify whether people consistently received their prescribed medicines. Despite this, no one had been harmed and all residents received their medicines as prescribed.
