Westfield House

Abbeyfield Loughborough provides accommodation and personal care for up to 64 people with dementia across two connected buildings—Westfield House and the newer Ingleside House—which share a link corridor and communal garden. At the time of inspection, 57 people were using the service.

However, inspectors found significant safeguarding concerns. People were at risk of harm due to insufficient staff supervision and inadequate mitigation of known risks. Staff lacked essential knowledge and training to safely support people during episodes of distressed behaviour, creating risks for residents and others. The team did not demonstrate the understanding and skills needed to effectively support people living with complex dementia.
