Woodthorpe Lodge

Woodthorpe Lodge is a purpose-built residential care home providing personal care to up to 66 older and younger adults, including people with dementia, mental health needs and sensory impairment. At the time of assessment, 51 people lived there. The CQC rated the home Good overall, finding staff kind, skilled and attentive, with falls and incidents reduced following targeted action, and safe recruitment and infection control in place.

Inspectors found some areas needing attention, including staff deployment at busy times, care plan detail around specific risks, medicines records, and mental capacity assessments. Quality monitoring systems were not yet fully embedded, and people felt activities and suggestion forums could improve. Overall, people described a friendly culture and felt treated with respect and dignity.
