Wentworth Hall Residential Home

This residential care home provides personal care to up to 23 people, some of whom live with dementia. At inspection, 16 people were using the service. Residents were complimentary about their care and expressed being extremely happy living at the home. Staff identified and managed risks associated with people's care effectively, and people were safeguarded from abuse with staff understanding how to recognise and report concerns. Medicines were administered as prescribed by trained and competent staff, and accidents and incidents were analysed to identify trends and lessons learnt.

The home supported people to have maximum choice and control over their lives, with staff enabling this through least restrictive practices. However, the registered manager had struggled with recruitment to the senior team and had no deputy manager in place. This reduction in senior staffing had led to some decline in certain areas of the service, and inspectors identified minor concerns including discrepancies with medication management and recruitment processes.
