Could the NHS fund Royal Court Care Home's fees?
NHS Continuing Healthcare could cover 100% of care costs with no means test.
Royal Court accommodates up to 40 older people, including those living with dementia. At inspection, 27 residents were living there. The home is spacious and purpose-built with three lounges and clearly defined zones to support social distancing and isolation when needed. Staff demonstrated good awareness of procedures for supporting residents who required self-isolation. The service had implemented clear visiting protocols with step-by-step guidance at entrances, a well-stocked PPE station with instructions for proper use, and temperature checks. When physical contact wasn't possible, families were offered alternative visiting arrangements including telephone calls, video calls, and window visits. The registered manager regularly updated families about changes to government guidance, and staff supported residents to maintain contact with loved ones through these alternative methods when required.
