Welcome House - The Chestnuts

Welcome House - The Chestnuts provides personal care and accommodation for up to 15 people with a mental health diagnosis. The CQC rated the service inadequate overall and placed it in special measures after finding repeated failings from the previous inspection had not been addressed.

Inspectors found poor leadership, unreported safeguarding incidents, unsafe medicine management, insufficient staffing and a dirty, poorly maintained environment. People had limited opportunities for activities or independence, though staff were described as kind and well trained. The service was found to be in breach of seven legal requirements, and significant improvement is required.
