The Woodlands Care Home

The Woodlands supports up to 16 older people and those living with sensory impairments across two floors. At the time of inspection, one person was receiving support at the home. Several improvements had been made since the previous inspection, including enhanced systems to assess, monitor and mitigate risks. Care records and risk assessments contained up to date information and staff were familiar with the tailored care needed. Clinical tools and charts were being used to measure identified risks.

The home had made significant improvements to its environment and safety. Fire safety concerns had been addressed, health and safety certificates were in place, and required safety equipment for transfers and emergency situations had been purchased. Safe medicine procedures were established with medicines securely stored, staff receiving medication administration training, and competency levels being regularly checked. Staff supported people with maximum choice and control, using the least restrictive practices possible and acting in their best interests.
