The Court

The Court is a residential care home providing personal care to 13 people, some living with dementia. The inspection identified serious concerns about management and safe care delivery. Quality and safety monitoring systems were not effective in identifying areas needing improvement, and when risks were identified by other professionals, they were not always addressed. Fire safety measures were not adequately maintained, with fire doors wedged open and the external fire escape in poor condition. The environment posed risks, including loose radiator covers, broken pots, and unsecured laundry detergent in the garden. Individual risk assessments were incomplete, and records did not consistently show people received required support. While accidents and incidents were managed, there was no evidence of regular reviews to identify trends or prevent future occurrences. Medicines storage and management were unsafe, with storage rooms not maintained at recommended temperatures and prescribed thickening agents stored insecurely.
