The Summers

The Summers is a nursing and residential home for older people, including those living with dementia, and people with nursing needs, physical disabilities or mental health needs. It supports 28 people. Following concerns about care standards, medicines and activities, the CQC carried out a responsive assessment and rated the home good overall, an improvement on the previous "requires improvement" rating for safety.

Inspectors found enough staff to meet people's needs, safe medicines management, and kind, competent staff who knew people well. Care was personalised, dietary needs were met, and quality monitoring systems worked effectively. Some assessments lacked supporting documentation, such as best interest decisions, though the provider later confirmed this had been addressed.
