The Spinney Care Home

The Spinney Care Home provides personal care to up to 26 residents, including people living with dementia. At inspection, 20 people were residing at the home. Residents and relatives reported feeling safe and expressed satisfaction with the care they received. Staff understood their responsibility to keep people safe, and risks associated with people's care were identified, assessed and well managed. However, medicines were not always safely managed, with systems failing to identify errors or issues with medication storage. Environmental checks were not always effective and did not identify infection prevention and control concerns that inspectors found. Staff felt supported by the management team, and the manager demonstrated commitment to addressing these shortfalls to improve the safety of the environment.
