Grove House Residential Care Home

Grove House provides accommodation and personal care for up to 29 older people in a two-storey adapted building. At inspection, 22 people were living at the home with three in hospital. People felt safe and staff understood their responsibilities for keeping them safe. Staff were recruited safely and were available to support people when needed. However, lack of management oversight meant some previously maintained standards and regulatory compliance had deteriorated. Systems to monitor quality and safety were not effective, and risks associated with people's care, the home's environment and fire safety were not well-managed, exposing residents to potential harm.

Staff supported people to have maximum choice and control over their lives in the least restrictive way possible. People were supported to maintain important relationships and had access to health and social care professionals when needed. Some aspects of medicines management and infection prevention and control required improvement.
