The Riverside Nursing Home

The Riverside Nursing Home provides personal and nursing care to up to 28 people aged 65 and over, including those living with dementia. At inspection, 24 people were using the service. Staff recruitment checks were robust and people were protected from abuse, with residents and families trusting staff to keep them safe.

However, several areas required improvement. Medicine recording systems lacked robustness and the recording of prescribed creams was unclear. Communal areas were not always supervised by staff, and both people and their relatives reported a lack of staff. The service was also found to lack activities and stimulation for residents. Auditing and governance systems required strengthening to ensure consistent quality across the home.
