About The Mews

The Mews is a nursing home in Rochdale, providing accommodation and nursing care for young people with disabilities. Further details on the service can be found in the CQC findings below.

The Mews provides accommodation, personal care and nursing care for young people with disabilities across three units situated over four floors. The terraced building on a hillside ensures all floors have direct access to outdoor areas. The service has 50 single bedrooms and accommodates 47 residents, with care delivered by qualified nurses and care assistants.

Staff demonstrated strong infection control practices, adhering to PPE guidance and maintaining social distancing in well-spaced communal areas. Clear self-isolation plans were in place with telephone and video contact arrangements for relatives. The provider created a dedicated safe visiting area within the home, allowing residents to see and speak with friends and family.

Additional support was provided for those residents who struggled with isolation.
