Hursthead House is a residential care home providing nursing and personal care for up to 22 people in one adapted building. During inspection, the home demonstrated several strengths in managing health and safety. Clear signage about COVID outbreaks kept families informed about their relatives' health, and staff followed national guidance on personal protective equipment with adequate stock levels.

The home had invested in good ventilation practices and air purifying equipment, while temperature checks were implemented at entry points. An infection control and prevention lead had been appointed, domestic staffing was increased, and both staff and residents participated in regular COVID-19 testing and vaccination programmes. The registered manager followed current admissions guidance and visitor risk assessments were completed following the inspection.
