The Oaks Care Home

The Oaks Care Home provides residential and nursing care for up to 45 people, including those living with dementia. Inspectors found the home requires improvement, having been assessed following concerns raised by the local authority and NHS about care, infection control and management. This was the third consecutive assessment where breaches were found, covering safe care, governance and person-centred care, with shortfalls in medicines management, risk records, staff training and the environment.

Relatives spoke warmly of caring staff, but raised concerns about cleanliness, staffing levels, agency staff skills and a lack of meaningful activities. There had been no registered manager since July 2024, though an interim manager was praised and a new manager was due to start. The home had voluntarily paused admissions while improvements continue.
