The Limes Care Home

The Limes Care Home provides residential personal care for up to 28 people with physical disabilities, mental health needs or dementia. At inspection, 19 people were using the service, which occupies two floors across two wings with personalised bedrooms, en-suite toilets, and shared communal areas including lounges, dining areas and a garden.

The home had significant areas requiring improvement. Manager and provider audits were not always effective in identifying where improvements were needed. Staff recruitment did not consistently follow current legislation, and safeguarding incidents and accidents were not always reported to the correct authorities. Some risk assessments and care plans lacked sufficient detail to guide staff in supporting people safely, while staff competency was not being monitored effectively. Additionally, people had not been asked for consent regarding CCTV use, meaning the service did not always support people to have maximum choice and control or to be supported in the least restrictive way possible.
