The Grange

The Grange provides personal care to 24 people with physical disabilities in a residential setting designed to support their independence. Staff have undergone robust recruitment processes and medicines are administered safely, with infection prevention and control measures aligned to best practice. People reported feeling safe and able to raise concerns with staff who listen and take appropriate action. Staff support people to make choices and exercise control over their lives in the least restrictive way possible.

However, inspectors found significant gaps in risk management and quality assurance. While risks associated with malnutrition, dehydration, and fire safety were assessed, actions to minimise these avoidable harms were not being adequately monitored or reviewed. Quality assurance systems were not robust enough to ensure people consistently received the right standard of care. These concerns suggest the service needs to strengthen its systems for tracking and acting on identified risks to better protect residents' wellbeing.
