The Amwell

The Amwell is a care home without nursing for older people, including those living with dementia and physical disabilities, providing accommodation and personal care for up to 32 people. The CQC found the home had made progress since previous breaches around safe care and governance, and it was no longer in breach of these regulations. Some improvements were still needed, particularly around medicines management, though risks were being monitored and acted upon.

Inspectors found kind, patient staff who knew people well and helped ease their anxieties. Residents spoke positively, with one describing staff as "lovely". Leaders had a visible presence and clear oversight, though the service still requires improvement overall.
