Sycamore Lodge supports up to 78 people, with 70 residents using the service at the time of inspection. The home provides accommodation alongside nursing or personal care. Staff numbers were adequate and demonstrated good knowledge of residents. People's care plans included important information about medical conditions, life histories and sensory requirements, though some plans needed improvement in specific areas such as catheter and seizure care.

Staff received training in recognising different types of abuse and understood reporting procedures. The provider monitored safeguarding concerns and incidents appropriately. However, improvements were still required in recording systems, particularly for topical cream applications and repositioning charts. The provider was recommended to implement a more robust checking system for these important records.
