St Stephens Nursing Home, in Kent, provides nursing and residential care for up to 17 adults with a learning disability and autistic people. The CQC rated the home Requires Improvement, down from Good, finding staffing levels inconsistent, particularly at night, with weak checks on staff competency and limited activities, leaving people spending long periods watching television without meaningful engagement.

Inspectors found care plans were detailed and well maintained, and staff had good safeguarding knowledge. However, governance did not adequately review people's quality of life, and people were not consistently supported to make choices or pursue goals. Five breaches were identified, and an action plan has been requested.
