St Edith's Court

St Edith's Court provides personal care without nursing for up to 39 people, some of whom may be living with dementia. The purpose-built service operates over two floors in a residential area and was supporting 35 people at the time of inspection. The manager has implemented strong infection prevention and control measures, including regular COVID-19 testing for people and staff, with quick action taken when positive results emerged. All staff received training on proper use of personal protective equipment, with effective systems in place for donning and doffing.

The service has maintained family connections through in-person visits where safe, alongside video and telephone calls. People are encouraged to access the landscaped gardens for fresh air and exercise, and the manager has put risk assessments in place to support people going out safely. The service continues to facilitate healthcare access, including visits from the GP practice nurse, ensuring people's health needs are met.
