Southcrest Nursing Home

The home provides nursing and personal care for up to 40 people, with 31 residents living there at the time of inspection. It cares for people requiring general nursing care, including those living with dementia and physical disabilities. Staff understood procedures to protect people's safety from abuse, and staffing arrangements were reviewed to meet individual needs. Improvements had been made to infection prevention and control practices, with staff provided training and protective equipment.

The provider and management team had worked together to enhance people's care and support since the previous inspection. However, some care documentation required further review to ensure information was personalised and accurately guided staff. More could be done to provide consistent recreational and social activities that meet residents' interests and stimulate their senses. The registered manager recognised that time was needed to embed improvements and sustain the progress being made.
