Priscilla Wakefield House

Priscilla Wakefield House is a residential care home with five units providing personal and nursing care for up to 117 people. Copperfield and Havisham units care for people requiring nursing support, while Nickleby offers residential care. Dorrit unit serves people living with dementia who need nursing care, and Pickwick supports younger adults with dementia, brain injury or physical disabilities requiring nursing care and rehabilitation. At inspection, 108 people were using the service.

Staff responded appropriately to emergencies and knew when to seek medical help. People had risk assessments in place for their specific health conditions, and the home provided varied moving and handling equipment to meet individual needs. Staff received training in safety topics and infection control measures protected people from infection risks. Care was personalised to each person's preferences, and the service offered a variety of activities while supporting people to maintain contact with family and loved ones.
