About Port Regis

Port Regis is a residential care home in Kent, providing accommodation and personal care for adults, including people living with dementia. Further detail on the findings of its most recent CQC assessment is set out below.

Port Regis is a residential care home in Dorset providing accommodation and personal care for up to 70 people, including those living with dementia. This assessment, prompted by concerns about quality of care, found breaches relating to safe care and treatment and to governance. Risk assessments were not always detailed enough, staff training gaps existed, and medicines management was not always safe.

Inspectors found kind, patient staff who supported people's independence, good partnership working with other professionals, and positive feedback on end-of-life care. People and relatives described the home as safe and clean, with an approachable management team. Some improvements had begun but needed embedding, and an action plan has been requested.
