Bradstowe Lodge

This residential care home accommodates up to 27 older people requiring personal care in one adapted building. At inspection, 22 people were using the service. Residents described staff as "all lovely", "interested in me" and "kind and thoughtful", with one person stating "This is my home now." Staff offered choices in all areas of life and supported people to remain independent with activities throughout the day. Risks to residents were identified and staff possessed the skills to keep people safe.

While improvements had been made, further progress was needed to ensure consistent good service delivery. Some people's records were incomplete, and detailed guidance was not always available to staff about how to mitigate individual risks and provide care according to preferences. Checks and audits had improved, though action plans to address shortfalls were not always in place. Residents and staff were involved in planning changes, and the home responded to feedback received from both groups.
