About Osbern Manor Care Home

Osbern Manor Care Home, in Medway, provides residential and nursing care for up to 72 older people and people living with dementia. The CQC rated the home Requires Improvement overall, having found gaps in care planning, inconsistent application of the Mental Capacity Act, and weak governance that failed to identify these issues. Two breaches of legal requirements were found, relating to consent and to management oversight, though inspectors found no evidence people had come to harm.

Despite this, people living at the home spoke warmly of staff kindness and attentiveness, and inspectors observed a calm, welcoming environment with good food and clean surroundings. Some residents felt evenings and weekends were less well staffed, but overall satisfaction remained high, with caring and responsive care rated Good.
